  • "Mexican Families" and "Puerto Rican Families"--videos available from Teacher's Discovery or other education vendors
  • Iguana- children's magazine. Each issue contains a monthly feature about a child from another country (not necessarily Spanish-speaking, though) Iguana Revista para Niños



Instructional Strategies

  • Discuss life in other places and examine the diversity of lifestyles among TL-speakers. Throughout the unit, students look for evidence that there is not one TL culture, but many.
